Tenure-track Assistant Professor of Mathematics position beginning Fall 2027.
About the Role
The main responsibility is teaching undergraduate mathematics, with a particular focus on statistics courses. The standard teaching load is 6 units per academic year. Faculty are also expected to engage in research, advising, and university service.

About the Department
The Mathematics program offers courses supporting various pathways through the Mathematics major, from applied to theoretical. Students frequently participate in faculty-mentored research (supported by university summer awards) and activities such as ASA DataFest, the Putnam exam, and the Mathematical Contest in Modeling.
The curriculum includes a three-semester applied statistics sequence and supports other disciplines with lower- and upper-division courses. The department has seven full-time faculty members with interests in scientific computing, algebraic geometry, combinatorics, computational topology, and large data set analysis.
Pay
Assistant Professor salaries in 2026-2027 begin at $75,320 for an assistant professor without a terminal degree in their first year of full-time post-doctorate teaching, up to $86,652 annualized based on experience.
