The University of Tampa seeks candidates for a Lecturer (master’s degree) or Assistant Teaching Professor (terminal degree) position in Mathematics. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, engage students in learning beyond the classroom, and contribute to university service. Responsibilities

• Teach lower‑level mathematics courses: Introductory Algebra, Introduction to Statistics, College Algebra, Pre‑Calculus, Finite Mathematics, and Calculus for Business.
• Maintain a teaching load of four 4‑credit courses per semester.
• Have the opportunity to teach in the summer for additional compensation.
• Demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, engage students beyond the classroom, and participate in university service.
• Participate in the review of applications commencing December 1, 2026, and continuing until the positions are filled.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a master’s degree in pure mathematics, applied mathematics, mathematics education, statistics, or a closely related field.
• Candidates with a master’s degree will be hired as Lecturer; those holding a terminal degree (Ph.D.) will be hired as Assistant Teaching Professor.
• Demonstrated experience teaching lower‑level mathematics courses (Introductory Algebra, Introduction to Statistics, College Algebra, Pre‑Calculus, Finite Mathematics, Calculus for Business).
• Commitment to excellence in teaching, engaging students beyond the classroom, and contributing to university service.
