Assistant, Teacher K-3 (26-27)

Essential Duties

• Affords individual or group assistance to students to help them complete assignments and reinforce learning concepts.
• Serves as a supervisor in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, schoolyards, and during field trips.
• Fulfills administrative policies and rules governing student behavior.
• Maintains coordination with classroom teachers to align instructional efforts.
• Instructs and monitors the safe use and maintenance of equipment and materials.
• Observes students' progress and documents relevant data for assessment.

Education And Experience

• Minimum Associate's Degree OR 48 credit hours of higher education OR successful completion of a formal assessment (Workkey and 96 hours of in-service training).
• Completion of the NC DOL Apprenticeship Program OR completion of the NC ATA Professional Development Plan.
• Desirable: Associate's Degree with a focus on Education OR 2+ years of experience working with elementary-aged children.
