Essential Duties
- Affords children individual or group support to ensure they grasp assignments and reinforce learning concepts.
- Monitors student behavior and performance in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, school grounds, and during field trips.
- Enforces school policies and rules.
- Collaborates with classroom teachers to align instructional strategies.
- Instructs and supervises the safe use and maintenance of classroom equipment and materials.
- Records and analyzes student progress to inform teaching adjustments.
Education And Experience
- Minimum Associate's Degree OR 48 credit hours of higher education OR successful completion of a formal assessment (Workkey and 96 hours of in-service training).
- Completion of the NC DOL Apprenticeship Program OR the NC ATA Professional Development Plan.
- Desirable: Associate's Degree in Education with a focus on elementary education OR 2+ years of experience working with elementary-aged children.
