Assistant, Teacher K-3 (26-27 SY)

Essential Duties

• Affords individual or group assistance to students to help them complete assignments and reinforce learning.
• Serves as a supervisor in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, school grounds, and during field trips.
• Fulfills administrative policies and rules regarding student conduct.
• Collaborates with classroom teachers to align instructional strategies.
• Instructs and supervises students in the safe handling and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Monitors student performance and documents relevant data to evaluate progress.

Education And Experience

• Minimum Associate's Degree OR 48 credit hours of higher education OR successful completion of a formal assessment (Workkey and 96 hours of in-service training).
• Completion of the NC DOL Apprenticeship Program OR the NC ATA Professional Development Plan desirable.
• Desirable: Associate's Degree with a focus on Education OR 2+ years of experience working with elementary-aged children.
