Assistant Teacher -- Barnard College Center for Toddler Development

About the Role

This part-time position is for an assistant teacher to collaborate with the teaching team in fulfilling classroom goals at the Barnard College Center for Toddler Development. Hours are Wednesday mornings 8:45AM-12:45PM and/or Monday and Thursday afternoons from 12:45-4:45PM. Occasional additional meetings may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all aspects of the Toddler Center classroom, including set-up and clean-up
• Work directly with toddlers alongside the teaching team
• Participate in briefing and debriefing sessions with the teaching team

Qualifications

• Completed a B.A. in Psychology, Education, or related field

• Commitment to learning about the emotional life of toddlers and growing in understanding
• Ability to reflect on practices and participate in a reflective supervision process
• Desire to be challenged and grow in work with children

Pay

$24/hr. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
