Assistant Teacher - Toddler

About the role

We are looking for someone who has a lot of energy and loves working with two-year-old children and is hardworking and dependable. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week). You must be able to work until at least 4:30 PM.

Responsibilities

• Carry out basic care duties including feeding, changing diapers, and facilitating naptime.
• Interact with young children in a playful manner.
• Assist the teacher with lesson plans, maintaining observations, and working with special educators.
• Interact with parents and maintain a clean classroom.

Requirements

• At least a high school graduate.
• Some coursework in early childhood education preferred.
• Willing to complete online mandated reporter training, online Vermont orientation training, and online CPR/first aid training.
• If the applicant does not already have early childhood college coursework, must be willing to complete the 45 hours Fundamentals for Early Childhood Education course within the first year of hire.

Nice to have

• Some experience working with young children.
• Some early childhood college coursework.
