Assistant Toddler Teacher

About the role

Gingerbread Littleversity of Fuquay-Varina is a licensed childcare center seeking Assistant Teachers to support the Toddlers age group. Our hiring process includes a resume screen, a 30‑minute phone screen with a recruiter, an on‑site interview with the Center Director (30‑60 minutes), a Q&A, classroom observation, and an offer.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the center.
• Implement activities that encourage each child’s growth in the areas of emotion, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development.
• Take direction, accept constructive criticism, and feedback, and make improvements and changes as necessary for the betterment of the quality of the program.
• Create and maintain an environment that is clean and safe for all children.
• Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Completion of early childhood education credentials or 6 credits worth of early childhood education courses or their equivalent.
• Ability to pass all background checks.
• Previous childcare experience is a plus.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 6:00 pm.

Pay

$15‑17 per hour, based on education and experience.
