Assistant Toddler Teacher

Wilmington Preschool of the Arts is a licensed childcare center seeking Assistant Teachers to support toddlers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to pass all background checks
• Previous experience working in a childcare center
• Completion of college-level coursework or an associate’s degree (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with all aspects of the classroom in a manner consistent with the philosophy and goals of the center
• Implement activities that encourage each child’s growth in emotional, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development
• Take direction, accept constructive criticism and feedback, and make improvements and changes as necessary for the betterment of the program
• Create and maintain an environment that is clean and safe for all children
• Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children
• Physical ability to work around small children, including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 8:15am - 5:15pm

Pay

$13–15 per hour, based on education and experience
