Responsibilities
- Oversee that all product, both Shipping and Receiving, adheres to correct pack dates and is shipped/received in order.
- Decide which orders to stage, and determine their location and timing.
- Ensure proper counts on inbound and outbound orders.
- Assist in all areas when employees are absent and make real-time decisions for both departments.
- Assist in taking inventory of all finished products.
- Coordinate daily with supervisors of Shipping, Receiving, and other departments to plan operations.
- Communicate with customers and carriers to resolve any issues that arise.
- Maintain knowledge of the SAP system in both Shipping and Receiving departments.
- Loading:
- Retrieve pallets from pack-off, record descriptions, wrap with plastic, label contents, and move to freezer location.
- Pre-pick partial loads; move pallets from freezer shelves to the floor, check for damaged boxes or exposed product, and update shipping load sheets with new location and details.
- Inform drivers of temperature and cleanliness standards prior to loading.
- Inspect trailers for proper temperature and cleanliness.
- Transfer pallets from freezer to loading dock for final verification and recording.
- Transfer pallets from loading dock to trailers and seal trailers for full loads.
- Unloading:
- Inspect and break trailer seals on incoming raw materials.
- Unload shipments onto the dock, compare packing slips to shipments (weight, count, and codes), and record results.
- Take temperature, weigh, and inspect raw meat shipments for look and smell.
- Record location of materials and prepare/distribute receiving reports (net weight, tare weight, codes, temperature, gross weight, establishment, PO#, description, slaughter date, slaughter establishment, packing date, packing establishment, and code date).
- Miscellaneous:
- Complete forklift maintenance checklists (oil leaks, horn, mast, hydraulic spills, test drive all functions).
- Recharge forklift battery at the end of the shift.
- Weigh, record, and dispose of all inedible product onto collection trucks.
- Audit inventory as needed and maintain a clean work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or trade certificate preferred.
- Basic computer competency.
- Knowledge of SAP system.
- 1 year of on-the-job experience with demonstrated understanding of process flow, quality, efficiency, safety, and organizational requirements.
Pay
Starting hourly rate: $24.25. Eligible for overtime pay for hours worked beyond 40 in a week, and may qualify for additional hourly premiums for perfect attendance or working evening/night shifts.

Work Environment
Work is generally performed within a manufacturing environment subjected to cold and warm temperatures. Requires wearing proper PPE. Includes standard office equipment and a plant manufacturing setting.
