About the role
Seminole Legacy Golf Club in Tallahassee, FL, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for an Assistant Superintendent. We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. As an associate of Troon, you’ll contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.
Responsibilities
- Managing and supervising a staff of 25-30 employees
- Mixing, calculating, and applying fertilizers and pesticides
- Operating and calibrating spray equipment
- Irrigation system operation and troubleshooting
- Aiding with course renovations and construction projects
- Maintaining detailed records of fertilizer and chemical applications
- Aiding the Superintendent with budget management
- Willingness to volunteer annually at a PGA TOUR event
Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, a “whatever it takes” mentality, and exceptional attention to detail. This position requires an understanding that elite playing conditions and high expectations often extend beyond a traditional 40-hour work week.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in golf course management or related field
- Knowledge of golf course maintenance practices and procedures
- Ability to operate and maintain irrigation systems
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Skills
- Proficiency in using golf course management software
- Experience with fertilizing and pesticide application
- Knowledge of irrigation systems and their maintenance
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Pay
Salary range: $55,000 - $65,000 annually, based on experience
Schedule
Hours may vary based on operational needs, but typically include weekends and evenings.
