Assistant Store Manager

Responsibilities
- Support the Retail Experience Manager in the day-to-day and long-term success of your store.
- Assist with onboarding new employees.
- Manage floor operations, including coaching in the moment, performance management, and check-ins.
- Assist with scheduling and ongoing education of Outfitters.
- Foster customer happiness and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Act as “Manager on Duty” when the Retail Experience Manager is not present.
- Promote a positive staff culture with a focus on performance management and education.
- Support all Fleet Feet initiatives, activities, and functions.
- Demonstrate Fleet Feet core values in every action.
Requirements
- Available to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays (regularly works at least one weekend day per week).
- Demonstrated leadership ability with at least 1 year of retail experience in a customer-facing sales setting.
- Passion for managing, training, and motivating employees.
- Ability to own and manage administrative tasks, customer interactions, and a fast-paced environment while staying organized.
- Fosters growth of others through recognition, coaching, and development opportunities.
- Promotes individual and team performance by setting expectations, delegating, and providing tools and resources.
- Builds and maintains trust from staff and customers by using sound judgment.
- Passionate, positive, self-motivated, and detail-oriented.

Position requires moving around for periods of 2-4 hours without a rest break, task sequencing, and using point-of-sale computers. Occasional moderate to heavy (10-25+ lb) lifting and carrying, bending, and reaching overhead may be required. Work environment includes substantial communication with customers, working in a retail environment with product displays and stockroom with inventory, and potentially slippery surfaces.

Pay
$18-$22 per hour
