Responsibilities
- Assist with the overall day-to-day operations of the store, focusing on developing effective store associates to achieve desired sales and EBITDA results.
- Daily assessment of the store’s ability to meet or exceed customer expectations for ease of shopping, variety, freshness, cleanliness, food safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Coach and develop store associates through formal and informal interactions.
- Support all aspects of the Full, Fresh, and Friendly Strategy.
- Demonstrate the company’s core values: respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.
- Assist the store leader and team in achieving a favorable customer shopping experience through great store conditions and customer service.
- Lead teams in planning, implementing, and executing merchandising and operating initiatives.
- Identify opportunities in the store, develop timely solutions, and create action plans for implementation.
- Drive sales by working with team members to maximize sales and profits, reduce shrink, and improve each department’s contribution.
- Assist the store leader in regular financial performance discussions, including achieving budgets and other targeted goals.
- Analyze and respond to the competitive landscape within the area.
- Ensure store departments achieve sales and profit goals, and implement division merchandising plans.
- Serve as a liaison, providing feedback to Store Leader, Area Leader, and Director of Operations on the effectiveness of division plans and programs.
- Assist the store leader in staffing, reducing turnover, increasing retention, and improving store operations.
- Provide timely feedback to team members on individual and department performance.
- Manage labor and supply costs daily to meet customer service and financial targets.
Requirements
- Physical demands include standing and walking 100% of the time, lifting an average of 50 lbs., pushing, pulling, bending, twisting/turning, manual dexterity, and repetitive motion of hands/wrists.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Previous experience in retail sales management preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to resolve customer issues effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
- Ability to supervise and motivate a team to achieve sales goals.
- Proficient in basic math skills for cash handling and inventory management.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
