Paragon offers a wide range of environmental investigation, consulting, compliance, and remediation services as well as IT solutions, Facility O&M, Materiel Support, Supply and Security to both private- and public-sector clients throughout Alaska and the Continental U.S. Paragon’s experienced professional staff is dedicated to producing high-quality documentation and providing safe field execution to support its clients’ projects in line with local, state and federal guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Directly reports to the Site Supervisor. Responsible for executing all duties in coordination with or in the absence of the Site Supervisor.
  • Coordinate transportation of detainees as directed by ICE, in a timely manner to ensure all detainees are delivered to proper destinations.
  • Ensure any required detainee documentation is provided to the Transportation Officers prior to departure.
  • Comply with all USDOT/FMCSA rules and regulations regarding the transport of passengers; monitor Transportation Officers’ Hours of Service and report to the Transportation Coordinator to ensure duty day does not exceed 15 hours with no more than 10 hours driving time; ensure no more than 70 hours in eight-day period.
  • Ensure Transportation Officers perform transport duties per PBNDS.
  • Provide daily Operations Brief (muster) and Safety/PBNDS Training brief.
  • Ensure all required equipment for transport is loaded in vehicles or kept in vehicles prior to transport; such items include first aid kit, accident investigation kit, proof of insurance, safety flares, restraint equipment, etc.
  • Provide weekly site-specific vehicle updates and coordinate vehicle maintenance with the Fleet Services Manager.
  • Respond to any/all incidents occurring on site; supervise preparation of required incident, injury or accident reports, ensuring the Transportation Coordinator and Project Manager are notified of all serious incidents involving injury, attempted escape, escape, use of force, etc.
  • Daily monitoring of SureBus.
  • Conduct monthly uniform and weapons inspections of assigned staff.
  • Prepare annual performance evaluations for assigned staff.
  • Counsel officers on performance deficiencies.
  • Issue disciplinary recommendations to the Transportation Coordinator and/or Project Manager for review and approval prior to issuing to staff.
  • Ensure all detainee transports/stationary guard assignments are documented and pre/post trip vehicle inspections, trip logs and G-391 forms are completed, and all documentation is provided to the Invoicing Administrator at the end of each shift.
  • Review the Record of Presence to ensure all shift personnel have signed in/out properly, including breaks, and forward to the Payroll Administrator, Invoicing Administrator, Transportation Coordinator and Project Manager at the end of each day.
  • Maintain cellphone, computer, and all subsequent software to receive assignments and maintain communications with the client, corporate, and local team.
  • Must be available 24 hours per day, seven days per week.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a Law Enforcement Officer and/or Military Police Officer or six (6) months experience as a security officer engaged in functions related to detaining civil or administrative detainees, or two (2) years active-duty military service with an honorable discharge.
  • Current Public Trust Clearance.
  • Valid Driver’s License for the State you reside in.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills; verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and data entry.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid Wear Carry Permit for the site-specific state.
  • Valid Security Guard Certification for the site-specific state.
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) for the state you reside in.
  • USDOT Medical Card (for CDL license holders only).
  • Current federal background investigation and access or ability to obtain.
  • Active Public Trust clearance.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position will have supervisory responsibilities.

Pay

$45.00 per hour.

Schedule

Must be available 24 hours per day, seven days per week.

  • Physical Setting: Most of time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move about.

Additional Information

  • As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results.
  • If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
