About the role

This full-time law enforcement position consists primarily of dignitary protection for State Legislators, threat assessments and investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Protect State Legislators and dignitaries within the Capitol Complex.
  • Conduct threat assessments and investigations.
  • Work under the supervision of the Chief of Police, at the direction of the Clerk of the House of Representatives.

Requirements

  • MCOLES certified or eligible for re-certification.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of law enforcement experience. Military experience may be considered towards this four years requirement.
  • Certified or able to be re-certified in Emergency First Aid, CPR and AED.
  • Possess an associate degree, with bachelor’s degree or higher preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and investigative experience is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality.

Qualifications

Salary Range: Starting annual salary of $60,000, with health benefits and retirement options.
