About the role
The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking an Assistant Scientist in a neuroscience laboratory focusing on neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s, X-linked dystonia parkinsonism, and Huntington’s disease. Applicants should have experience in molecular, cell, and/or animal model systems.
Responsibilities
- Experience in molecular biology, standard immunoprotein methods (e.g., immunoblotting, immunoprecipitation, immunohistochemistry, ELISA)
- Mouse handling, husbandry, and genotyping
- Research a topic chosen by the PI, input from the person in this position is essential
- Gather and analyze data
- Prepare scientific reports, manuscripts including figures, and grant proposals, either independently or with assistance from the PI
Qualifications
- PhD in Biological Sciences or related field
- Two years experience
Preferred Skills
- Mouse husbandry
- Molecular biology (e.g., CrispR)
Pay
$75,000 - $112,500 Annually
