About the role

The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking an Assistant Scientist in a neuroscience laboratory focusing on neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s, X-linked dystonia parkinsonism, and Huntington’s disease. Applicants should have experience in molecular, cell, and/or animal model systems.

Responsibilities

  • Experience in molecular biology, standard immunoprotein methods (e.g., immunoblotting, immunoprecipitation, immunohistochemistry, ELISA)
  • Mouse handling, husbandry, and genotyping
  • Research a topic chosen by the PI, input from the person in this position is essential
  • Gather and analyze data
  • Prepare scientific reports, manuscripts including figures, and grant proposals, either independently or with assistance from the PI

Qualifications

  • PhD in Biological Sciences or related field
  • Two years experience

Preferred Skills

  • Mouse husbandry
  • Molecular biology (e.g., CrispR)

Pay

$75,000 - $112,500 Annually
