Assistant Research Scientist in Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine
About the role
The department of Neuroscience and Regenerative Medicine in the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is seeking an Assistant Research Scientist. Reporting to the Director of the Brain Organoid Core, the faculty member will manage the development and operation of the Brain Organoid Core and its research programs. The individual will support core-led projects and provide technical expertise and consultation to investigators.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in grant writing and submission/Scientific manuscripts writing and submission
- Planning, designing, and performing research projects and analyzing the data from these research projects
- Mentoring and supervising postdoctoral fellows, research associate, and graduate students
- Performing administrative and managerial tasks in the laboratory
- Attending lab meetings and discussions of results from research projects
- Staying current with advances in stem cell biology, organoid technologies, genome engineering, and neuroscience research and to help implement emerging methodologies that enhance the capabilities of the Brain Organoid Core
Required Qualifications
- PhD or equivalent from an accredited institution.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
This position is fiscal year based and works year-round. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time. Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.

The Medical College of Georgia (MCG) is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 304 students per class.
