Research Support Assistant (Translational Neuroscience)
About the role
This Research Support Assistant role will join an MRC-funded translational neuroscience project, helping to run and analyse experiments based on electrophysiological recordings of brain activity and psychopharmacology in preclinical models. This fixed-term post will provide maternity cover, but affords an exciting opportunity to experience a range of laboratory techniques and to work with a collaborative team spanning Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter universities.
Responsibilities
- Support an established series of preclinical electrophysiology experiments, recording and analysing brain activity to help understand mechanisms of psychiatric disorders.
- Support the team by helping to manage laboratory supplies and maintain a healthy and safe working environment.
Requirements
- Direct experience of in vivo electrophysiology.
- A current Home Office Personal Import License (PIL).
- Experience of analysing neural data, including scoring of sleep based on EEG.
Qualifications
Applicants should have a relevant degree and/or professional qualifications.

Flexible working pattern (Part-time, 28 hours per week).
Pay
£35,608 - £39,906 per annum pro rata.
Schedule
Fixed term (maternity cover for 12 months).
