Responsibilities
- Support the daily operations of the salon
- Encourage and support the team of stylists
- Manage inventory and ensure salon supplies are stocked
- Train and develop new stylists
- Handle customer inquiries and complaints
- Manage the salon’s social media presence
- Coordinate with other salons in the network for promotional activities
Requirements
- A valid Cosmetology and/or Barber License (requirements vary by state/province)
- Strong technical haircutting skills and great customer service
- A team-first mindset with a desire to encourage and support others
- Clear communication skills and a positive, motivating attitude
- Organization, flexibility, and the desire to help keep the salon running smoothly
- An interest in growing your leadership skills and taking on more responsibility
Qualifications
- Experience in a similar role is not required
- An interest in leadership and supporting others is just as important as prior experience

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities and adapt to changing priorities

This role combines cutting hair with supporting daily salon operations and helping the team succeed. The Assistant Salon Manager role is often a stepping stone toward Salon Manager or other leadership positions. Assistant Salon Managers receive training in management and operations through Great Clips University (GCU), along with ongoing support and instruction from salon management.
