Assistant Salon Leader

Yellowhammer Salon Group (YSG) operates over 75 full-service SmartStyle Hair Salons inside Walmart stores across 11 states, making us the largest operator of this brand in the United States.

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Assistant Salon Leader to oversee daily operations and ensure exceptional service delivery in our salon. As an Assistant Salon Leader, you will deliver a range of hair services, ensure client satisfaction, and contribute to the overall success of the salon while assisting the Salon Leader in achieving salon goals.

Our salons are located inside Walmart stores, where you'll see an average of 5,000 customers per day (150,000 per month—1,800,000 per year!) walking by your front door, providing instant clientele in the world's busiest marketplace.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service while providing the full range of hair care services to clients.
• Demonstrate strong technical ability and consistently exhibit and develop technical competence.
• Ensure the salon team provides exceptional customer service.
• Help market the salon and grow the business.
• Ensure the salon schedules meet the needs of the business.
• Manage and control expenses.
• Complete required administrative tasks.
• Lead the team to accomplish sales goals.
• Achieve personal productivity goals.
• Lead through YSG’s vision and mission statement.

Requirements

• Valid and current cosmetology license (required).
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage clients and staff alike.
• Passion for the beauty industry and staying updated on trends and techniques.
• Ability to provide exceptional customer service and consistently perform quality services.
• Team player with strong leadership qualities.
• Ability to multitask and work at a fast pace while demonstrating good judgment and time management skills.
• Effectively communicate with salon team, peers, supervisors, Walmart staff, vendors, and customers.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to work alone in the salon when required.

Pay

• Earn up to 60% commission on services plus up to 25% on retail sales.
