Assistant Resident Engineer (Newark, NJ)

By joining our team as an Assistant Resident Engineer, you will manage a group of Field Engineers in monitoring the Contractor’s performance to assure compliance with contract requirements.
We’ll provide you professional growth while you:
- Supervise construction inspection personnel within all civil engineering disciplines to ensure construction quality assurance is completed properly, timely, and in accordance with contract documents.
- Plan and coordinate all field inspection activities and review Field Engineers’ daily reports for compliance with job specifications.
- Respond to various field issues, track job progress, submit relevant reports, and run construction meetings.
- Verify that tests, observations, and inspections are performed, witnessed, and documented in conjunction with plans and specifications.
- Assist in responding to RFIs and provide field information (photos, drawing markups, field measurements) to design personnel when needed.
- Work on change orders and conduct construction meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or a related field.
- Experience managing civil infrastructure projects as an Assistant Resident Engineer.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ideally, you’ll also have
- 10-Hour OSHA certification (preferred).
- Port Authority experience (preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred, but not required).

Pay
The base salary range for this position is $125,000.00 to $160,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Schedule
Onsite employees are expected to attend a Jacobs Workplace on a full-time basis, as required by the nature of their role.
