Position Details
The Assistant Registrar for Data and Systems Support in the Office of the Registrar plays a key role in advancing the university’s commitment to student success. This position designs, develops, implements, and maintains digital processes, reports, and dashboards in accordance with established best practices, ensuring data integrity and reliability. The Assistant Registrar for Data and Systems Support develops and maintains comprehensive process documentation to support accuracy and consistency, and provides staff training as needed. In addition, the role supports enterprise applications and systems, including conducting testing and validation of system upgrades to ensure functionality and minimize disruption to operations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics) or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- A minimum of two (2) years of experience in data analysis and reporting.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Experience validating and reconciling data for accuracy.
- Working knowledge of SQL and tools to query, analyze and produce meaningful data outputs.
- Solid understanding of data modeling and data quality best practices.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a demonstrated ability to adapt communication style to meet the developmental needs of colleagues and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to foster strong working relationships, navigate differing perspectives professionally, and contribute to a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
- Able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proactive mindset with the flexibility to adjust to changing priorities and learn new skills.
- Working knowledge of desktop troubleshooting and user support.
Desired Qualifications
- Proficient in SQL and experience with databases.
- Extensive experience with data model and best practices/standards.
- Experience creating dashboards and reports using tools like Tableau or Power BI.
- Experience with Ellucian Banner and/or DegreeWorks.
- Experience with Catalog, Curriculum and Scheduling systems, like Coursedog.
- Knowledge of higher education business processes.
- Experience building and maintaining ETL processes.
