About the role
WDF Inc., a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager - JOC to join our Mount Vernon, NY office.
Description
- Oversees bid packages for sub-contractor involvement and correctness
- Negotiates sub-contractor changes
- Plans, organizes, and staffs key field positions through regional department heads
- Negotiates contract with Client/Owner, maintains positive relationships, and resolves disputes
- Demonstrates complete understanding and awareness of the contract
- Oversees procurement log and monitors progress of long lead items
- Reviews subcontractor PCO’s and prepares change order requests to Owner
- Reviews RFI and submittal logs with Project Engineers
- Initiates and maintains liaison with prime client and A/E contacts, to facilitate construction activities
- Maintains control of construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget
- Represents company in project meetings, assists in labor negotiations/strategy meetings
- Manages financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with Client
- Maintains jobsite safety and takes appropriate action to address and correct deficiencies
- Approves Time and Material rates
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar from an accredited institution
- Five (5) or more years of commercial construction experience on projects exceeding $50 million; experience with Job Order Contracting (JOC) is preferred
- Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities
- Scheduling knowledge of Primavera P-6 and Procore experience is preferred
- Knowledge of construction cost, scheduling, estimating, purchasing, and engineering principles and techniques, as well as accounting principles
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule
- Advanced skill level with MS Office applications (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint/Publisher)
- Intermediate knowledge of Prolog software
- Knowledge of CAD 2000 or CAD 3-D is desired
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Excellent written and verbal skills
