About the role
The School of Architecture at the University of Arizona seeks applicants who integrate computational design, performance modeling, and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence to address complex social and environmental challenges.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to a research-intensive university where architectural design critically engages technology and the environment.
- Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with faculty in Sustainable Built Environments, Landscape Architecture, and Urban Planning.
- Build new partnerships focused on resilience, AI, data, environment, energy, health, and water.
- Teach and research in a unique pedagogical and research context that explores architecture's role in adaptation, material and energy flows, and climate-responsive design.
Requirements
- Professional degree in architecture (BArch, MArch, or international equivalent).
- Post-graduate degree in architecture or related discipline (Master’s or PhD).
- Experience teaching design studio and/or other architecture courses.
- Demonstrated record or evidence of potential funding for research or creative practice.
Qualifications
- PhD or doctorate in architecture or related discipline.
- Professional design experience and/or licensure.
Skills
- Strong interest in advancing resilient, equitable, and imaginative futures through architecture.
- Ability to collaborate across disciplines to address global challenges.
- Proficiency in computational design, performance modeling, and emerging tools such as AI.
- Experience in teaching and researching in a desert environment.
