About the role

The Department of Architecture + Design at Alfred State College is seeking dynamic, innovative, and student-focused educators to join a vibrant academic community dedicated to excellence in teaching and hands-on learning.

Responsibilities

- Mentor aspiring designers and prepare them to become leaders in the design professions. - Teach studio and lecture courses in Architecture, Architectural Technology, or Interior Design. - Collaborate with colleagues and participate in the life of the department, campus, and community. - Develop dynamic projects and content that challenge students and meet NAAB and CIDA student performance criteria. - Utilize technology such as Autodesk Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Lumion, and Enscape. - Engage in self-determination and leadership within the department, region, and college.

Requirements

- Minimum of two years of proven teaching experience in relevant fields. - Earned terminal degree in Architecture (M.Arch.), Interior Design, or a cognate discipline such as urban design. - Possession of a Registered Architect license is preferable; willingness to pursue registration is a plus. - Comfortable working directly with students in the classroom and studio. - Proficient and comfortable with technology used in architectural firms and practice. - Willingness to join an established team of educators and practicing professionals. - Disposition to assist in building a culturally inclusive faculty that reflects the diverse student body.
