Assistant Professor, Organizational Behavior - Department of Management
About the role
The Department of Management in the College of Business at James Madison University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Management position with a focus in Organizational Behavior to begin in Fall 2027. Advanced assistant professors are also encouraged to apply.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Primary teaching responsibilities will be teaching undergraduate courses in Organizational Behavior as well as a secondary area that supports one of our Management concentrations (HRM, Consulting, and Entrepreneurship).
- The successful candidate is expected to conduct high-quality research, as well as engage in academic and community service for the department, college, university, and the profession.
- The department fosters a collegial and collaborative team environment that supports student success and faculty development.
Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in Business Administration or a closely related field is required (a doctorate degree from a business program must be from an AACSB-accredited business school).
- Applicants who are ABD will be considered with the requirement of degree in hand by December of 2027.
- We are seeking a candidate who can teach courses in Organizational Behavior and a secondary area that supports one of our MGT concentrations.
- The successful candidate must provide evidence of teaching effectiveness and outstanding research potential for publishing in premier management journals.
- Preference will be given to candidates holding a PhD with a primary emphasis in organizational behavior and a secondary area of expertise in the other discipline.
