Assistant Professor of Research Physiology and Neuroscience
The University of Southern California (USC) seeks an Assistant Professor of Research Physiology and Neuroscience to contribute to collaborative research at the Alzheimer’s Therapeutic Research Institute (ATRI) Neuroscience Translational Research Division (NTRD) in San Diego.
About the Role
This position will also lead an independent research lab focused on translational basic science studies for Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias. The candidate should have a track record of independent research and participation in collaborative groups and projects in the field of Alzheimer’s disease translational research.
Responsibilities
- Experimental planning and execution of the project
- Closely working with other NTRD PIs and team members and collaborators during research time
- Displaying strong mentorship skills for junior scientists/PhD candidates
- Excel at oral and written scientific communication
- Demonstrated technical and scientific leadership through publication record in leading neuroscience journals
Requirements
- Track record of independent research in Alzheimer’s disease translational research
- Strong mentorship skills for junior scientists/PhD candidates
- Excellent oral and written scientific communication skills
- Recognition for technical and scientific leadership through publication record in leading neuroscience journals
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Physiology, or related field
- Postdoctoral training in Alzheimer’s disease translational research
- Experience in experimental design and execution
- Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
- Strong publication record in leading neuroscience journals

Pay
The annual base salary range for this position is $76,000-100,000.
