Department of Political Science, Main Campus – tenure-track position beginning Fall 2027.

About the role

The Department of Political Science at Colorado College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor specializing in Comparative Politics with a focus on China. The successful candidate will teach the introductory Comparative Politics course, the capstone seminar in Comparative Politics, and additional courses designed in their areas of interest and expertise.

Colorado College is a nationally recognized, residential liberal arts and sciences college enrolling approximately 2,000 students. The College operates on the Block Plan, where students take one course at a time over three-and-a-half-week blocks. Faculty teach six blocks per academic year, with one block optionally assigned to supervising senior and independent projects.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the introductory Comparative Politics course
  • Teach the capstone seminar in Comparative Politics
  • Design and teach courses in areas of personal expertise and interest
  • Engage in scholarly research and publication
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide service

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Political Science or related field (all requirements must be completed by August 23, 2027)
  • Specialization in Comparative Politics with a focus on China
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence in a liberal arts environment
  • Active research agenda and potential for scholarly publication
