Assistant Professor of International Relations
Job Description
The Department of Political Science at the University of Florida invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in International Relations, to begin in August 2026. This is a broad search seeking scholars of exceptional promise in any area of IR.
Classification Minimum Requirements
- Ph.D. in Political Science (or a closely related field) by time of appointment.
- Evidence of high-quality scholarship or strong potential for publication in leading peer-reviewed journals of political science and international relations.
- Ability to teach effectively at the graduate and undergraduate levels, including core courses in international relations.
Preferred
- We are especially interested in candidates whose work engages with International Organizations, International Institutions and International Relations theory.
- We particularly encourage applications from scholars whose work combines strong theoretical contributions with rigorous empirical analysis and engages broader debates in international politics.
