About the role
The Department of Political Science at Northwestern University seeks applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in International Relations to begin on September 1, 2027. We seek candidates who will advance international relations scholarship and engage with important issues in contemporary world politics. The successful applicant will teach a combination of graduate and undergraduate courses.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Political Science or a closely related field, with International Relations training
- ABD applicants who anticipate completion of the doctorate by Fall 2027 will be considered

Pay
The expected base pay range for this position is $100,000 - $125,000 for a nine-month academic appointment. This range does not include summer salary and is subject to negotiation. The pay offered will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal comparators, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
