Assistant Professor of Economics
About the role
The position is a tenure-track Assistant Professor in economics within the Department of Economics and Finance, School of Management at Marist University. The department seeks faculty members capable of teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in economics, quantitative reasoning, and related subjects.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in economics and related subjects.
- Maintain an active research agenda leading to peer-reviewed publications.
- Advising students, participating in service activities, and serving on committees as needed.
Requirements
- Terminal degree in economics or closely related field (Ph.D., or A.B.D. with projected completion by December 2027).
- Professional experience is also highly desirable.
Qualifications
Marist faculty are expected to maintain a robust program of disciplinary research resulting in peer-reviewed publications. They also participate in the life of the School and its activities, including involvement in committee work, student advising and support, and community outreach activities.
Skills
Strong emphasis on quality teaching in a small classroom setting is desired.
