Responsibilities
- Teach primarily upper-level economics courses, including in-person, hybrid, and online formats.
- Participate in the development and assessment of new curricula and pedagogical approaches.
- Provide student advisement and mentoring.
- Contribute to Department, School, College, and University service activities, including governance, program assessment, day-to-day operation, and student recruitment and retention, among other areas.
- Research resulting in publications and presentations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support departmental initiatives and college-wide programs.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Economics or related field.
- Demonstrated ability to teach successfully.
- Ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior teaching experience at the college level.
- Experience teaching introductory economics and advanced courses.
- Expertise in computational or applied economics.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and R.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
- Active research agenda that includes publications and presentations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and a commitment to collaborative work.
Compensation
Salary range: $76,937 - $94,909. Salary commensurate with education and experience. Effective 9/1/26, salaries for eligible employees will be adjusted by 3.5% according to the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
