Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice, Anesthesiology

About the role

The purpose of this position is to provide faculty support to meet the teaching, research, and patient care needs of the Department of Anesthesiology and assist in fulfilling UTMB’s threefold mission.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including anesthesiology, pre-op services, and post-op services.
• Participate in all teaching activities in the Department, including conferences and lectures, teaching in the operating rooms; house staff supervision in the operating room; continuing medical education; and local, regional, and national meetings.
• Supervise and evaluate residents, provide medical direction, and participate in committee memberships at the departmental and Health System level.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved medical school.
• Completed an approved residency training program.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Anesthesiology.
• Texas Medical license without restrictions.

Qualifications

• Experience in anesthesiology, pre-op services, and post-op services.
• Ability to teach and mentor medical students and house staff.
• Experience with medical direction and committee work.
