Assistant Professor of Accounting
About the role
The Department of Accounting in the Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, to begin in the 2027-2028 academic year.
Responsibilities
- Teach courses in Accounting Information Systems (AIS) and/or Audit, incorporating data analytics and artificial intelligence into course content.
- Contribute to the intellectual life of the department through research in high-quality academic journals.
- Mentor a diverse and inclusive community of undergraduate students.
- Engage in service activities that enhance the academic and professional development of students and colleagues.
Requirements
- A Ph.D. in Accounting by the time of appointment.
- Preference for candidates with interest in teaching AIS and/or Audit, and a commitment to incorporating data analytics and artificial intelligence into course content.
- Professional work experience related to accounting and auditing, and/or a professional certification in Accounting (such as being a licensed CPA) is preferred but not required.
Qualifications
The Department of Accounting at the University of Richmond seeks candidates who demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, intellectual contributions, and service. Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. in Accounting and a demonstrated ability to teach in the areas of Accounting Information Systems (AIS) and/or Audit, incorporating data analytics and artificial intelligence into course content.
