Ranked among the top business schools for undergraduate and graduate programs, SOM offers bachelor's, master's, and Ph.D. programs. The Accounting faculty maintain a consistent record of scholarly achievement, with recent publications in Journal of Accounting Research, The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, Review of Accounting Studies, Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory, and Behavioral Research in Accounting.

About the Role

The School of Management (SOM) at Binghamton University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Accounting starting mid-August 2027, subject to budgetary approval.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality research in top-tier accounting journals. Summer funding is provided for the first three years of service to support faculty research.
• Deliver required and elective courses in accounting at the undergraduate and/or master's levels. The standard teaching load is 2+2 per academic year.
• Contribute to the school, university, and professional community through service on committees, shared governance, curriculum development, and assessment.
• Actively contribute to the intellectual environment of the department.

Requirements

• A Ph.D. in Accounting or a closely related field, or completion of all degree requirements by the start date (August 16, 2027), including valid immigration status and work authorization, if applicable.
• Ability to establish a successful track record of scholarly research, substantiated by dissertation, publications, and working papers.

Preferred Qualifications

• Teaching experience with favorable evaluations.
• Ability and willingness to teach Accounting Information Systems and/or Forensic Accounting.
