Assistant Professor - Neuroscience Program in the College of Science and Math
About the role
The Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience Program within the College of Science and Mathematics at Augusta University is actively seeking candidates for a full-time, non-tenure track Assistant Professor position, anticipated to begin in Fall 2026.
Responsibilities
- Teaching - 80%: Teach and coordinate Neuroscience courses as assigned, develop innovative instructional strategies, and oversee the continued growth and quality of the Neuroscience program.
- Research - 10%: Engage in scholarly activities and research that involve undergraduate science majors.
- Service - 10%: Serve on committees and perform other duties as assigned to support the department and college.
Required Qualifications
- A Ph.D. or similar terminal degree in Neuroscience or a closely related discipline.
- Expertise to teach courses such as Neuroscience, Neurobiology, and Neuropharmacology.
- Ability to contribute to program development and student success.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching Neuroscience at the undergraduate level.
- Experience coordinating courses and instructional laboratories.
- Demonstrated ability to support program growth and innovation.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
This position is academic year based and typically works August through May, depending on dates outlined in offer letter and yearly contract. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0. Assistant Professor-Salary and compensation is commensurate with education, experience, and achievements. The salary is subject to availability of funds.
