About the role

The Management Science and Information Systems (MSIS) Department in the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position slated to begin in Fall 2026. The position is on the Stillwater campus. Departmental faculty, such as this position, are in both Stillwater and Tulsa and can teach classes in both locations (as well as online as appropriate).

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Teach large, business core classes in information systems and/or data science.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of innovative academic programs at the undergraduate, master’s and doctoral level.
  • Participate in research and publish in top journals in MIS, Data Science, and/or Cybersecurity.
  • Engage in departmental initiatives as needed.

Requirements

The preferred applicant will have completed a Ph.D. in MIS or related area from an AACSB-accredited university. Those close to finishing their degree (e.g., ABD status) will also be considered.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • An innovative mindset.
  • A strong background in cybersecurity.
  • Technical versatility.
  • Impactful research potential with aspirations of publishing in top journals in MIS, Data Science, and/or Cybersecurity.

Skills

Preference will be given to candidates who can teach large, business core classes in information systems and/or data science, and those with a strong background in cybersecurity.
