Assistant Professor (Lecturer) in the School of Music- Studio Tenor

DUTIES

• Teach voice lessons for students seeking lessons, doctoral through non-majors, in a variety of styles including classical, and musical theater or jazz.
• Teach voice-related courses, especially vocal pedagogy. Additional courses may include diction and vocal literature.
• Develop long-term relationships with local professional organizations, local public schools, private teachers, and NATS to enhance the recruitment and retention of voice students.
• Advise masters and doctoral students.
• Work to adapt curriculum to address the current needs of the voice area to best serve its students.
• Assist the voice area coordinator with administrative duties such as coordinating voice area juries, auditions, performances, and recruiting initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

• A master's degree or equivalent education and experience is required. A doctorate is preferred.
• Demonstrated evidence of successful voice lesson teaching at the collegiate level in the classical style and at least one of the following: musical theater or jazz.
• Demonstrated evidence of professional vocal performance.
• The ability to teach multiple subjects in the voice area including vocal pedagogy, diction, and vocal literature.
