Assistant Professor - Kinesiology
About the role
The School of Health and Kinesiology at the University of Nebraska at Omaha invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor in Kinesiology with an anticipated start date of August 2026. The ideal candidate will help expand and complement current faculty expertise with an applied background in strength and conditioning, nutrition, exercise/sport psychology, or related fields. Desirable professional certifications include Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach (NSCA), Certified Nutrition Coach (NASM), Certified Mental Performance Consultant® (AASP), Certified Performance and Sport Scientist (NSCA) or other comparable credentials.
Responsibilities
- Teaching courses in the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral kinesiology curriculum
- Mentoring and supervising graduate students
- Establishing an extramurally funded research program
- Providing service to the school, college, university, and metropolitan community
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in kinesiology or related field
- Clear evidence of teaching experience and a well-defined research agenda
- Professional certifications such as Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach (NSCA), Certified Nutrition Coach (NASM), Certified Mental Performance Consultant® (AASP), Certified Performance and Sport Scientist (NSCA) or similar
