Position description

The Department of Dermatology of the University of California at San Francisco is seeking to appoint a new faculty member at the Assistant Professor level to establish a basic-translational research program focused on neuro-immune interactions that contribute to cutaneous dysesthesia, pain, itch and chronic inflammatory conditions. The successful candidate will also devote some of his/her time towards clinical care at the San Francisco VA Medical Center (SFVAMC). In addition, the candidate will be responsible for teaching residents, medical students, and house staff. The appointee will be given laboratory space in 1700 Owens, a SFVAMC-affiliated building located adjacent to the UCSF Mission Bay campus and will be a member of the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program.

Requirements

Candidates are required to hold a MD, PhD, or MD/PhD degree, and to have demonstrated achievement in their field. The deadline for applications to be considered in a timely manner is 12/31/2025.
