About the role
The School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh seeks an Assistant Professor in Marketing to teach graduate and undergraduate courses and conduct high-quality research.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate business students
- Conduct research on empirical quantitative marketing topics and lead research projects resulting in publications in top journals
- Advising PhD students specializing in quantitative marketing
- Participate in departmental and academic services including faculty hiring, PhD admission, curriculum design, conference presentations, and peer review
Requirements
- PhD degree (or foreign equivalent) in Marketing, Management, or a related field
- Experience teaching marketing classes to MBA/EMBA students
- Experience conducting independent research and leading research projects in empirical quantitative marketing on topics related to competition policy, privacy, platforms, digitization, and retailing
Qualifications
- Evidence of publication of at least two (2) peer-reviewed journal articles for top marketing and management journals
- At least two (2) single-authored academic papers and two (2) co-authored papers with other scholars
- Presentation of scholarly work at major academic marketing and economics conferences
- PhD-level coursework in economic theory, econometrics, statistics, causal inference, and major areas of marketing research
