About the role
Penn State Behrend invites applicants for a tenure-track position in Electrical or Computer Engineering starting Spring term (January) or Fall term (August) of 2026.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses and guide senior design projects in area(s) such as electric circuits, electromagnetics, power, energy, automation, digital signal processing, embedded systems, microprocessors, VLSI digital circuits, and/or electrical or computer engineering laboratories in a collaborative environment.
- Develop a funded research program aligned with Penn State Behrend’s strengths in power and energy systems, battery testing and design, embedded and cyber-physical systems, devices (including fabrication) and sensors, robotics and automation, artificial intelligence and machine learning, advanced electronics, and communications.
- Participate in interdisciplinary collaborations and industry partnerships, leveraging Behrend’s Open Lab model and state-of-the-art facilities.
- Contribute to the School of Engineering’s ABET accredited programs and be recognized as a top engineering school.
Requirements
- A Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a closely related field, is required by the appointment start date.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
