About the role
The Department of Pathology in the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia invites applications for a nine-month tenure track faculty position with a focus on AI.
Responsibilities
- Establish a dynamic, externally funded research program
- Contribute significantly to the Department’s research mission through collaborative efforts with other faculty
- Teach in the College’s undergraduate, professional and graduate programs
- Participate in the Departmental service
Requirements
The selected candidate will be expected to establish a dynamic, externally funded research program and to contribute significantly to the Department’s research mission through collaborative efforts with other faculty. Areas of interest include AI-driven image analysis and computer vision for digital histopathology, integration of multimodal data (e.g., imaging and molecular), AI-driven genomics and multi-omics analysis, and generative AI in disease modeling.
Qualifications
- PhD (or equivalent) in a related field
- Preference will be given to individuals with post-doctoral training or similar research evidence in biomedical science
Skills
- Active research program and/or a record of applying computational biology and artificial intelligence (AI) techniques to the study of animal and human disease
- Strong foundation in biological systems and the ability to address fundamental or applied questions in the pathophysiology of animal and human diseases
- Commitment to teaching excellence, including undergraduate instruction and student engagement
