About the role
The Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology at the University of Florida (UF) College of Medicine seeks an outstanding Assistant Professor of Genetics. This position is part of a 5-year strategic plan aimed at expanding the faculty.
Responsibilities
- Conduct innovative research in genetics, including gene expression and regulation, functional genomics, and systems biology.
- Collaborate with researchers across various colleges and institutes at UF, such as Agriculture, Engineering, Liberal Arts and Sciences, Medicine, Public Health and Health Professions, Genetics, McKnight Brain Institute, Emerging Pathogens, Cancer, CDC Southeastern Center of Excellence in Vector Borne Diseases, Inflammation & Mucosal Immunology, NeuroGenetics, and NIH Southeast Center for Integrated Metabolomics.
- Develop a strong, externally funded research program.
- Teach at the graduate level.
- Recruit and mentor outstanding trainees.
Qualifications
- A PhD in Genetics or a related field.
- Outstanding record of research productivity and creativity.
- Strong potential for external funding.
- Experience in interdisciplinary research.
- Ability to teach effectively at the graduate level.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
