Assistant Professor (Full-Time), Health Services Administration
About the Role
Faculty in Professional Studies are responsible for the development and delivery of medium-volume online courses in the 3X format. This format involves a primary instructor leading a collaborative team of teaching assistants to provide quality instruction, student advising, and maintain high standards of academic excellence. The role upholds Strayer’s mission, values, and academic standards.
Responsibilities
- Use and refine efficient methods to create and deliver large volumes of highly engaging video content to students.
- Effectively oversee and lead a collaborative team of Teaching Assistants and direct their activities.
- Embrace innovative technology by providing regular online sessions, video feedback, and other digital engagement tools.
- Maintain adequate student records and ensure smooth course operation in adherence to policies and procedures.
- Present information on the 3X model at the request of the university.
- Develop student outreach strategies and create both text and video content for specific engagement opportunities.
- Work effectively with contributing departments, including Studios and the Instructional Technology department.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- At least 3 or more years of online teaching experience.
- Leadership experience preferred.
- Professional experience in the field of study is preferred and may be required dependent on course credentialing requirements.
- Healthcare experience (operational and/or administrative).
- Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution; a terminal degree may be required dependent on course credentialing requirements.
- Doctorate degree in Health Services Administration, Doctor of Business Administration with emphasis in Healthcare, Doctor of Healthcare Administration, or similar field.
- Ability to travel occasionally (travel requirements vary by role; accommodations available per ADA policies).
- Ability to work onsite in a corporate or campus location if required, including mobility within the office (e.g., elevators, stairs).
- For remote or hybrid roles, must have access to a workspace that meets role requirements (e.g., privacy, reliable internet, phone, video conferencing).
- Must be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

- Fluent in cloud-based applications, such as Google Docs, Sheets, and Office 365.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work more than 40 hours per week when business needs warrant.
Work Location Details
This role is designed to be remote ("home office"). Employees are responsible for providing an appropriate and safe workspace, including:
- High-speed internet connection, printer, and a dedicated phone line for business use.
- Expense coverage and reimbursement vary by position.
- The environment must be free from distractions and enable a highly productive and professional work setting.
Pay
The expected starting pay for this position is $85,000 - $88,000, based on current budgetary guidelines and factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business needs, and internal pay equity. While it is not typical to be hired at or near the top of the range, the actual base pay offered may vary.
