About the role
The San Diego State University Marketing Department at Fowler College of Business seeks to hire a tenure-track assistant professor with expertise in consumer insights and analytics to begin August 19, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate experience in and/or commitment to teaching.
- Develop a vigorous and independent program of research / scholarship / creative activity.
- Teach graduate and undergraduate courses.
- Engage in both campus and professional service activities.
Requirements
- A record of original research / scholarly / creative accomplishments.
- Demonstrated capacity to teach graduate and undergraduate courses.
- Ability to interact effectively with the business community.
Qualifications
- Doctorate in Marketing or a related field, with all degree requirements met before the first day of the Fall 2026 semester, August 19, 2026.
- Preferred qualifications include:
- Demonstrated expertise in the discipline and its methodologies.
- Record of publications, presentations, and/or funding.
- Proficiency in interdisciplinary and collaborative approaches to research / scholarship / teaching.
- University-level teaching experience.
- Preparation for teaching students from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated interest in relevant service to the university, community, and profession.
- Engagement in service or research with different populations in higher education.
- Understanding of the mission and goals of the academic unit and SDSU.

Pay
The minimum salary for this position is based on the current CSU salary schedule and may be revised based on contract collective bargaining. The anticipated salary range is from $138,000 to $142,000. Salary placement will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience, and salaries higher than the published maximums may be offered in limited circumstances.
