Assistant Professor - Computational Neuroscience - Psychology (Tenure-Track)
About the role
The Department of Psychology at the City College of New York (CCNY) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in computational neuroscience at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin in Fall 2027. The department is a vibrant, diverse unit located in Harlem serving over 2,000 undergraduate majors, with master’s programs in General Psychology and Mental Health Counseling, a doctoral program in Clinical Psychology, and faculty participation in Ph.D. programs in Neuroscience and Psychology at the CUNY Graduate Center and the M.S. program in Cognitive Neuroscience. CCNY maintains strong affiliations with the Center for Discovery and Innovation (CDI), a state‑of‑the‑art research facility that shares an imaging core and behavioral testing space with the CUNY Advanced Science Research Center (ASRC), which hosts a dedicated neuroscience initiative including a 3T MRI scanner on campus. The CUNY Graduate Center also houses the CUNY Initiative for Theoretical Sciences (ITS), emphasizing mathematical and theoretical approaches to the natural sciences. Computational resources include the CUNY High Performance Computing Center (CUNY‑HPCC) and a recent $75 million gift from the Simons Foundation that will expand computational expertise and establish an M.S. program in Computational Science across CUNY. Opportunities for research collaborations exist at the Grove School of Engineering, CUNY School of Medicine, the U54 partnership between CCNY and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and various intramural programs.
