Assistant Professor, Clinical Geo, Department of Neurosurgery

Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati Department of Neurosurgery is seeking an Endovascular fellowship trained neurosurgeon to facilitate subspecialty program growth, increase patient access and contribute to regional coverage expansion.

Essential Functions

• Bedside education of medical students and residents in the diagnosis and care of patients with cerebrovascular disease.
• Participate in the educating of students in neurosurgery and specialty-adjacent fields in specialty head and neck anatomy.
• Provide direct patient care.
• Perform preoperative assessments; evaluate patients before surgery to determine the most appropriate plan based on their medical history and current health.
• Perform postoperative care by overseeing the recovery of patients.
• Handle emergency situations by providing life-saving interventions.
• Attend departmental and institutional meetings, contribute to governance, and assist in the preparation of educational materials.
• Engage in scholarly activities, including clinical research, quality improvement, and academic service.
• Provide service to the professional and lay community relevant to neurosurgery and academic medicine.
• Respond to University-related communications in a timely and professional manner.

Minimum Requirements

• MD or DO licensure by the State of Ohio Medical Board.
• Board certified/Board eligible.
• Completion of ACGME Neurosurgery residency (7 years).
• Completion of Endovascular Neurosurgery Subspecialty Training or CAST Fellowship (1 year).
