About the role

The Department of Psychology at The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA, USA, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position, at the rank of Assistant Professor of Child Clinical Psychology.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a strong record of publications in top outlets.
  • Instruct residents at the undergraduate and graduate level.
  • Perform normal university service based on qualifications.
  • Teach onsite, an essential function of the job.

Requirements

  • A Ph.D. in clinical Psychology and clinical internship are required by the appointment date.
  • A license to practice in Pennsylvania is required by the appointment date.

Qualifications

  • Areas of specialization within child clinical psychology are open, but not limited to, candidates whose research would synergize with our current expertise in community and school-based prevention, childhood adversity and maltreatment, cognitive-neuropsychological bases of attention and behavior, stress and coping, emotion regulation, and developmental psychopathology.
  • Two priority areas are: (1) mental health needs of and interventions for children, adolescents, including, but not limited to, families of color and other marginalized populations, and (2) mechanism-driven research in developmental psychopathology to elucidate pathways to risk and resilience.

Skills

  • Demonstrated ability as a researcher, scholar, and teacher in a relevant field.
  • Evidence of growth in scholarly achievement.
  • History of or potential for external funding.
