💼 Full-time📍 Boone, North Carolina, United States🌐 Remote EMPLOYER: Appalachian State University LOCATION: Boone, North Carolina, USA TYPE: Full-Time, Tenure-Track (9-month) START DATE: August 1, 2027 APPLICATION DEADLINE: Open until filled (Review begins September 1, 2026) SALARY: Competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience VISA SPONSORSHIP: Available Requirements PhD or PsyD from APA-accredited doctoral program in Clinical Psychology ABD candidates considered (degree expected by start date) Licensed or license-eligible as Psychologist, Health Service Provider in North Carolina Evidence of success or potential for research, publications, and external funding Preferred Qualifications Clinical and/or research experience relevant to children and adolescents or rural communities Interest in teaching cognitive assessment Completion of APA/CPA-accredited internship Clinical supervision experience Teaching experience at undergraduate or graduate level Responsibilities Teach undergraduate and graduate courses (typical load: 3 courses per semester) Maintain productive research program with peer-reviewed publications Supervise student research including dissertations Seek external funding Provide professional service to program, department, university, and community About The Department 43 full-time faculty, 1,400+ undergraduate majors, 90 graduate students. Four graduate programs: Psychological Science MA, I-O Psychology MA, School Psychology MA/SSP, and Clinical Psychology PsyD. PsyD program embraces scholar-practitioner philosophy with small cohort, mentor match model. APA accredited on contingency (full accreditation application 2026). New junior faculty receive limited service requirements, minimized course preps, reduced teaching load in first year, and ongoing mentoring.
